Bend with the wind

Now more than ever, each day I notice what a blessing it is to be flexible. Change is the very nature of the Universe – it’s always been there. Yet, for some reason, in these days of instant contact and faster-than-the-speed-of-light exchanges, I find that it’s become even more important to be flexible when it comes to our plans and rules.

Souls Never Die

We look at the process of dying and the process of mourning as farewells – which they are, in a way. After all, death means saying goodbye to the physical part of our beings. It is the end of a journey, and it is often most challenging to those who are left behind.

On Radical Shifts of Attitude

We are funny creatures. One of the most unfortunate aspects of this human trait is that most of us have to face incredibly challenging situations in order to realize that we need to shift one, or several, aspects of our attitude.

The Magic of Making Connections

We are making connections all the time, whether we realize/intend it or not. When we have ideas, we are connecting concepts. When we meet someone new, we are connecting with them but we may also end up connecting them to other people we know.

Are You Taking Care of Yourself?

When we think about ‘taking care of ourselves’, most of us think about exercise, diets, and cosmetic procedures. Of course those things are important: we have to make sure our bodies stay in motion in order to prevent future issues; and we are all too familiar with the famous saying “you are what you eat”, because it’s so true.

In Praise of Collaboration

None of us is able to go through life alone. Even if you are on your own, each day presents you with at least one – but often several – circumstance in which you have to engage in interaction with another person. Some of us enjoy that exchange…but some of us don’t. It’s perfectly valid: we’re all different and that’s what makes life so interesting and enriching.

A Healthy Disconnection

Our lives are so immersed in technology nowadays that it’s almost impossible to imagine how we ever got by without things such as cell phones, e-mails, Skype, iPads, etc. There are very few things we can do that do not involve technology.

What does it mean to be ‘spiritual’?

At one point or another, once we have known a person long enough, the topic of religion or spirituality comes up. It’s even more frequent when you work in the Holistic circle, as I do. It is usually implied that someone who reaches balance, or peace, possesses a defined set of beliefs that allows them to live in balance, according to a set of traditions. However, particularly in this day and age where there is so much more information available, and more options are open, it has become more and more frequent to meet people who have come to construct their individual and extremely personal set of beliefs; their unique spiritual system.

Committed To Love

You may have already heard that Michael and I got married this week. The ceremony was Wednesday afternoon and the wedding was officiated by a Jewish Cantor. It was a beautiful ceremony! Our lives are filled with love and joy and we are blessed to have family and friends like you to share it with. Thanks so much to all of you who have taken the time to congratulate us and send us your good wishes!

Open Your Heart

I’m sure you are aware of the current refugee crisis in Europe. I won’t go into much detail here, but I will say that the news and images that have appeared on international media are devastating and heartbreaking. At this point the situation is so urgent that even countries in the American continent (the U.S. and Mexico, just to name a couple of them) are being called upon so that they may assist Europe in an effort to control this situation and welcome millions of Syrian refugees, offering them an opportunity to start anew.

Ends Are Always New Beginnings

When certain situations in our lives come to an end, sometimes it can be difficult to interpret their meaning.
When an end is abrupt and unpleasant, it leaves us with a feeling of uncertainty. We crave some kind of closure that may or may not come, because sometimes it’s not in our hands to reach it. In these situations, it’s common to fall into despair. We feel like something has been snatched from our hands, taken from us without warning. Sometimes, we may even feel deceived.

The question is not ‘who?’…

I’m rarely on Facebook, but some times an occasional gem will find its way through my newsfeed. Reasons matter, and the weight of our decisions is usually leveraged with our motivations. However, it is equally important to consider how we put those reasons into effect.
I found this poem on Facebook this week and I think it holds a simple and powerful truth. So, I want to share it with you:

Do you know how to use your life?

Sure, nothing and nobody is perfect. It’s a fact that we will never be one hundred percent satisfied or pleased with the current state of affairs. It’s human nature. Humans are the only species of mammal who aspires to or expects perfection.

Goodbye, Dear Friend

This week I want to honor a dear, long term friend and co-founder of LifePath Center: Joseph Dispenza.
Joseph and I met through a mutual friend, my tour operator, when I was taking people around the world on personal growth spiritual journeys and Joseph was writing “The Way the Traveler”, one of his many books, sitting in a small cafe. Joseph didn’t need to travel all over the world (although he did) to know the wisdom of the world. He held that wisdom deep within his soul.

Too Much Stuff, Too Much Baggage

It’s inevitable: when we move to a new home or office, a large part of the dread we feel is caused by the certainty of having to go through all the ‘junk’. These past few weeks I’ve been going through all kinds of junk. Sometimes it’s not junk: it’s just the feeling of having ‘too much stuff’.

Focus on the NOW

So much to do, and so little time to do it – sounds familiar? Well, trust me: if every other day you feel overwhelmed by your ‘to-do’ list, you’re not alone! After returning from my brief trip, it seems like I’ve hardly had a moment to sit down and collect my thoughts.
