Change the way you look at things and the things you look at change. – Wayne Dyer
We are funny creatures. One of the most unfortunate aspects of this human trait is that most of us have to face incredibly challenging situations in order to realize that we need to shift one, or several, aspects of our attitude.
Why wait until the death of a loved one, or a health scare, or a tragedy, to reassess and cherish the blessings in our lives?
The most precious things in our lives, the ones that give us greater joy and satisfaction, are often also the most fleeting and the most overlooked. Showing consideration to others; smiling more often; making healthy choices; and exercising empathy on a permanent pasis – those are all little shifts that make a dramatic, positive difference in our lives; shaping our paths in a more beautiful and powerful way.
Each moment brings a new opportunity to radically shift our attitudes towards ourselves, towards each other, and towards life in general. Time moves in a subtle, but relentless way – and it always moves forward. It stops for no-one. Don’t wait until the next morning to change and improve: do it now.
Today, ask yourself: “how can I shift my attitude about something/someone so that I can live a better life, and bring love and joy to those around me?”. If you do this exercise, I would love for you to tell me how it went. I can always be reached at docbeverly@aol.com.
