Goals are like magnets. They’ll attract the things that make them come true. – Tony Robbins

What happens then, when the contents of our ‘current’ plate are not entirely what we would wish them to be? Will we say ‘no’ to exciting, positive things so that we can make sure what we already have doesn’t fall off the track?
Think of life as a plate of food from a buffet: maybe someone filled that plate for you and it has some things that you don’t like, or even some food containing ingredients you’re allergic to. Would you sit down and eat it nonetheless? Most of us would get up and return some – or all! – of the items that are inadequate or that pose a risk to our health; and trade them for something that we like. Why do most of us feel that we can’t do the same with work projects, social commitments, and many other things?
We don’t have to accept things we dislike, and we certainly should say a polite ‘no’ to things that make us feel bad (either physically or emotionally). Do you want your life to be happier, more exciting, and more positive? Make sure that all the items that are currently in your buffet plate are of your liking, then – and make room for delicious things by removing the unwanted items!
What are the contents of your plate from the buffet of the universe? Do you like them all or should you make some changes? Is your plate too full? I’m always looking forward to your replies at docbeverly@aol.com.
