Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have. Make the NOW the primary focus of your life. – Eckhart Tolle

Whenever I notice that this is happening, I try to schedule some time for myself; and also to see some of my dearest friends. I find that those intimate and happy moments help me keep track of the beauty of the present. It’s shocking how easily we can let the present slip away when we’re too busy. We shouldn’t ever let our life become just a list of tasks to complete. Where is the fun in that?
As much as we love to make plans – and there’s nothing wrong with that, per-se -, we must be aware that the future is just an idea: a projection of our wishes. Plans are important and they motivate us to get things done, and they can (and often are) drive us to accomplish better and bigger things. But they’re not life. Your life is made of a collection of instants that go by so fast that you hardly notice it.
Our focus should be on the HERE and NOW. Decide what makes you feel happy and safe today – that’s all that matters. And, spend your time doing things that you enjoy doing – with the people you care for the most in this world.
