A Note From Dr. Beverly Nelson, Director
Everything and everyone in this world has an impact on our lives. Whether it’s positive or negative experiences or people we know really well or strangers who come in contact with us at one point in our lives, even if just for a few minutes…The list could go on.
This week, I am so fortunate and honored to be the morning keynote speaker at the very first Wellness & Spirituality Expo in San Miguel de Allende. Talk about an opportunity to influence others in such a positive way! All the guest speakers are amazing and the topics are so relevant and meaningful. This expo is also a great opportunity for all of us to raise funds and awareness to fight domestic violence against women and children. I hope to see you there at 10 am on Wednesday, October 31st! (More info about the event in the following section of our newsletter.)
Influence can also take the most beautiful shapes in the form of ancient traditions. It is such a blessing to witness, year after year on the Day of the Dead, how Mexicans get in touch with their past and with those who have influenced their lives. We can all learn from that spirit of celebration of life through death. I think about all those who I’ve known and loved – my parents, or some of my teachers, friends and colleagues – from whom I learned so much. Their lives and influence are certainly worth celebrating.
This is one of the motivations behind this year’s Day of the Dead Altar at LifePath Center. On the evening of November 1st, we invite you to join us in this tribute for all those who have influenced the lives of the members of the LifePath Center community, and also to honor those who have influenced your life.
Who are your most important influences? What did you learn from them? I would love to hear from you!
