A Note From Dr. Beverly Nelson, Director
For a number of reasons, these months can be a little challenging for some of us. There is something about the weather, the colors and the imminent end of another year that can bring melancholy to our lives, particularly when we’re going through a difficult situation: being away from our loved ones, moving, finalizing relationships, etc.
Here are 3 things I suggest for keeping yourself happy, focused and active during Fall:
a) Do something positive for someone else. It can be a simple favor: help them walk their dog, bring them a fun movie to watch, or offer your help for a task they might find difficult. This will immediately create a flow of positive energy.
b) Find a creative project to sink into: paint the walls of your room, knit, create photo collages, etc. The bigger, the better!
c) Write a list of things you appreciate at the present time. It doesn’t matter if it’s ‘small’ things – those are usually the most important. Focus on each of them, as you realize that no matter how complicated life becomes, you have much to be grateful for.
One ‘extra’ thing I recommend is to meet new people. That alone adds a lot of excitement and positivity to our lives. Next October 13th, we will be having an Open House at LifePath Center, to welcome our excellent new Acupuncturist, Phaedra. The details are below.
Looking forward to seeing you there, and maybe you can let me know if you put in practice my suggestions and how they worked for you!
