A Note From Dr. Beverly Nelson, Director
Another Thanksgiving is here, how wonderful!
Thanksgiving is a reminder for us to be grateful for all the blessings we have, and for the positive elements in our lives. Not just be grateful for the ‘exciting’ things – those are always easier to remember, right? How about being grateful for the basic, often unnoticed things?
The air we breathe, the first cup of coffee in the morning, the smile of a loved one, the joy with which our pets greet us, the smell of food coming from a neighboring kitchen, the sound of water running in a nearby fountain, good company, being able to walk to the bakery when we feel like it…I could go on all day. The most simple acts are often overlooked in our gratitude lists. Only those who are not able to enjoy them notice how precious they are. Shouldn’t we also notice?
I encourage you to make a list and write down all of the things you’re grateful for. Don’t judge yourself – you can include anything and should include everything you deem worthy to be on that list. Even those who have had a rough year will be surprised by how much they have to be grateful for, and may find the exercise life-changing.
This Thanksgiving I am grateful for my family, my friends, my staff and all the wonderful practitioner team at LifePath Center, for San Miguel de Allende, and I am also grateful of the fact that I get to be in touch with each and every one of you!
What are you grateful for?
