A wise woman wishes to be no one’s enemy. A wise woman refuses to be anyone’s victim. Maya Angelou
My 70th Birthday was Thursday, June 22! Even though it’s hard to believe that I’m actually 70, I feel honored and humbled that this milestone has been reached. In order to celebrate this incredible moment, I asked my friend and gifted healer, Eduardo Morales, to lead a small group of my friends and family in a ceremony. A wise woman ceremony. Each guest was asked to share a quote about a wise woman and put in a bowl to be shared with others. It was such an incredible experience to share these quotes with each other and to share the acknowledgement of having reached this stage of my life.
The quotes were so great, that I’d like to share them with you. Each one is a gem! One of my friends, Patrice Wynne, said that the quote, “Those who have walked thought the fire leave sparks of light everywhere they go” reminded her of me. Thanks, Patrice!

“At 70, you are just entering middle age. It used to be youth, middle age, old age. But that’s not accurate any more. In reality, one to twenty is just growing up and doesn’t count. Twenty to 50 is first stage adulthood, the learning phase of adulthood. 50 to 70 is second stage adulthood, the stage where you put all your wisdom to work. 70 is the beginning of middle age, where you enjoy the self you have built and support others in building theirs.” Gail Sheehy

“A wise woman takes good care of herself, as well as taking good care of others. A wise woman is true to herself.” Anonymous
