“There is no coming to consciousness without pain. People will do anything, no matter how absurd, in order to avoid facing their own Soul. One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.”
― C.G. Jung

This last week I received an email from one of my dearest long-term friends, Sharon Scandrett Hibdon. I met her in Memphis, Tennessee years ago (actually it was in the early 1980’s) and we quickly connected due to our common interest in consciousness and healing work. Our connection continued over the years and, as a result, we created holistic health centers and programs for healing in Memphis and Dallas. We always knew and trusted our collective awareness that evolution of consciousness for ourselves and others was “the only game in town”. Then, she moved to Iowa and continued her work and I moved to Mexico and continued mine. Parallel lives of healing. This last week I received the following email.
Beverly, During these times, it is very important to center, center, center. Maintain your spiritual equilibrium. Be the calm, clear center in these times of chaos. Remember, the old has to break down… The new consciousness is coming. Things are speeded up now. This is what we came back for now, to help with this transition to the new. Be peace, love, and joy.
What a reminder!! It is that time and I KNOW that the old has to break down before the new can emerge. We are in those times. And, it’s important for all of us to maintain a calm, clear center NOW. It’s exciting, it’s frightening, it’s exhilarating, it’s devastating and it’s real.
Thanks, Sharon, for this reminder. And, now, I’m sharing this as a reminder to all to “be peace, love and joy.” Remember to stay calm during these times of chaos. For me, I will continue my life’s work to help with the transition to the new and by “making the darkness conscious”. It’s my commitment. What’s yours?
As always, I’d love to hear from you at docbeverly@aol.com about your thoughts and your commitment.
Beverly
